I think the question is, why are we still in Iraq if the war is over? Another good question would be, "Isn't this the same fight as Vietnam?" What happened to all those folks that protested that skirmish? Didn't they say a war like that would never happen again? Instead of communism as the excuse, this time it's "freedom." The philosophy of our government seems to have shifted from going to stop what they consider harmful (communism), to simply conquering foreign nations in the name of liberty. The goal seems to be one giant USA. The red, white and blue flag flying over every school, in every country, all the time. This is globalization, the spread of the corporate rule spawned by fear, to create a nationalistic and patriotic uprising in our country. There are a small percentage of the people who want to see this stop, have an american revolution. One where true democracy is practiced, one where everyone votes on every decision of our nation, always. This can be easily done with such new tools, like computers and cellular phones. But unfortunately that revolution has been pre-empted by another, one ruled by the military and ignorant politicians. One that must be stopped by using what is left of our Constitution. There is much more needed than a new president- new senators, new congress, new judges, all from a breed of american leader far different than those who rule today. Leaders who want to spread truth and justice just as much as they want to introduce the popular freedom and liberty abroad. So to answer the question, we the people are not at war with Iraq, our government is and it's up to every american with an ounce of decency in their soul to stop it.
